Professor X, Samurai X, Planet X, nouns are ten times more interesting with the letter X after it. This is probably what tickled my family's curiosity to try out Ramen X, one of the places to eat Japanese food in Trinoma Mall.
I've never really tried legit ramen in Japan yet. Closer to home, Ramen X is one of the upper class fastfood chains that will not disappoint. After all, piping hot noodles are perfect for this chilly weather!

Inside the Ramen X |
The Place
No rice paper sliding doors here folks! The place looks very sleek and modern. I enjoyed listening to Japanese songs in the background (and even sang along to some err in my head, even though I had no idea what it meant).

Hello customers! |
The designers are smart enough to put gaps in the bench to avoid the pain of letting someone scoot over so you can visit the loo. Moreover, I am happy that the table we sat in was spacious enough for diners who have elbows that spread like eagle wings when eating. Elbow space for everybody!
The Food
Their menu is reasonably priced. For a little over a hundred, you can buy food that is good for sharing.
Here is a link to their menu, since their official site is currently down.

Gyoza Php59 |
For our side dish we had gyoza. It was not salty, and the exterior thing was thin, which was awesome.
This is my sister's order. I forgot what you call it (sorry!) but it costs Php125.
I ordered the generous serving of the kimchi ramen (Php125). It was delicious and not as spicy as I expected. I wish there was more roast pork on my bowl since it was really good, the fatty bits are sweet and melt in my mouth. Ahh it was really good! I said that already but will repeat so for emphasis.

Kimchi Ramen Php125 and Strangely good Yoghurt Soda Php60 |
The noodles were different. They were bouncy and smooth compared to Chinese noodles which I am used to.
I tried the yoghurt soda (Php60) since I had no idea what it was. It was similar to fizzy Sprite-Yakult, combining sourness with sweetness which I could not understand. It was strangely good and did a nice job of lessening the aftertaste of ramen.
The Service
Service time was average. We didn't have any problems with the service team.
Overall, Ramen X is a good place if you are craving for piping hot Japanese food. For people who are wondering where to eat in Quezon City, give Ramen X a try!

The ramen's quite affordable. Hope I'd get to try this soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll like it like I did!
DeleteTried this before! Loved their ramen but not so much for their rice meals =)
ReplyDeleteOooh haven't tried the rice meal yet. Thanks for the tip :)
DeleteGot to try Ramen X for takeout from their Eton Centris branch. I really liked their ramen for the price, although dad wasn't too impressed. Oh, I like their milk teas too! :) Although I already forgot which variants I had..
ReplyDeleteMaybe your dad likes the premium ramen? I haven't had the chance to eat the more expensive ones :P
