"Oh Ricardo, don't leave me!" (source) |
Just in case you mistakenly felt that your bag is invincible to the rain during your travels, or got pushed to the pool with your phone still in your pocket, chances are you've had your gadget soaked. Here is a simple trick to attempt to make it dry and still functional!
This tip on how to fix wet gadgets was shared by my photography instructor and my cousin who also loves photography.
You will need:
A gadget, make sure to pour water on it to make it soaking wet
Towel
Bowl
Uncooked Rice
1. Resist the instinct! Do NOT turn it on to see if it still works. Chances are it won't.
2. Dry it thoroughly with a towel as soon as possible. Some people like to use blow driers or the fan.
3. Pour rice on a bowl
4. Cook the rice.
5. Just kidding on step 4 :)
6. Put the gadget on top of the rice and put some more rice on top
7. Let it sit for around 4 days so the rice can absorb more water.
8. Hope that your gadget still works. If not, go have it professionally fixed.
Good luck with being a phone doctor or camera fix it Felix!

Great tips! Also, I heard that you may use desiccants instead of rice to absorb moisture. :)
