Top 5 Sunburn Remedies!

Summer is almost over, but sun burn is here to stay! Whether it be on the beach, or when you're commuting, the lack of sunblock will leave you overly burnt like your cheeks (and err whole body) is excessively blushing.

There are soothing creams and gels available to help ease sun burns, but if you're not willing to buy any, you can always try DIY home remedies for sun burns.

I've never tried any of these before since I'm usually diligent with putting on sunscreen. I tell my friends to reapply with me. If they don't, I look at them sadly and bid their good skin farewell. There is sheer pleasure when I get to slap them on their sunburned areas hard because it's just fun :)

1. CUCUMBER

Hollywood skin guru Ole Henricson (who I do not know because I live under a rock) suggests cucumbers. They're anti-inflammatory, which probably explains why some use them on the face to reduce eyebag puffiness.  Grate or blend the cucumbers and apply to skin.

2. MILK

Dr. Pappert from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey mentions that cool milk is good for healing sunburn. When applying it on the skin with a cloth, it creates a protein film to help soothe the burn.

3. MUSTARD
Nnnnnoooo!!!! (source)

A report from the ABC channel suggests putting on mustard on the sunburnt skin. The selenium and magnesium helps repair the skin and shut down free radical damage, stuff contributing to skin cancer.

4. TEA BAG

I guess if you have a buttload of money, you can buy a bunch of tea bags, dump them in your bath tub and soak away to calm the skin and yourself.

5. VINEGAR

Being an antiseptic, vinegar cools the skin as a sunburn remedy.
