Day 2 Davao Wildwater Adventure and Jack's Ridge

DAVAO WILDWATER ADVENTURE

Hard paddle!

Wild wild fun! This is definitely my favorite part of the Davao trip! All photos c/o Adam the extreme photographer on a one-man canoe.

We didn't follow our itinerary with The Philippine Eagle Center since it was an hour away and we already went to a zoo. For excitement, we wanted the Wild Water Rafting experiencerencerence. (Echo for extra excitment effect)

Normally, there should be a reservation and downpayment at least a day ahead. We were very lucky that the contact person was super accommodating and let us go even if it was just a last minute request.

We got the P1,500 promo inclusive of the transpo, training, photo doc, 1.5-2 hour river rafting, lunch, and a souvenir shirt!
Our very cool jeep and jumpshot attempt. The ones on the left did a great job!
The group we got to join were all very nice people too :) All of the instructors were very entertaining, approachable and highly skilled. Our guide for the Davao River was Dirk.

The river is only for those with a thirst for adrenaline and adventure! I fell of twice (sandwiched between a boulder, me and the raft), Jopet once (claiming he felt like he was really going to drown). The other raft, well just look at the pic below. I still have bruises and scratches but it was all worth it! It's a weird feeling of being in danger and feeling alive at the same time.

ahh refreshing

Aside from the 25 rapids, we got to see the beauty of nature. There's the uncommon lizard, the vibrant blue bird, the Vanishing Point waterfalls, and the mini cave. I could swoon about how awesome the rafting is all day!

The Vanishing Point Waterfalls.  Dirk says we were lucky that it was there since it usually isn't
After rafting, we passed by Zip City since that was part of the package. I asked why I even have a helmet since I'll be dead if I fall. It was a fun 20ish seconds of ziplining.

JACK'S RIDGE RESORT AND RESTAURANT
For dinner we ate in Jack's Ridge, a famous restaurant on top of the mountain, overlooking a beautiful view of Davao's city lights. I am a sucker for pretty lights so I found it very special and romantic. The menu is around 200-400. There are musicians too, pay an amount after you've requested a song.

Dining was lovely since there was live music in the background. Here is their menu

Sweet chicken wings, like my lovin' hahaha

I forgot what this is sorry. it's beef though
Concentrating on my food was difficult because I was distracted with the pretty pretty background, like glitter reflecting light. I am hoping I didn't make the people on my right uncomfy because I kept looking at their direction.

There is also a mini park outside the resto,  with benches and gazebos,  overlooking the background.  Ah love is in the air.

Have you tried Jack's Ridge before?
