Day 1 Davao Crocodile Farm and Ramon Magsaysay Park

CROCODILE PARK

I'm chillin'. Whattup?

This is part 1 of our 4 days 3 nights itinerary in Davao! Our google maps says Eden Park is near the city but actually isn't. We went to the Crocodile Park instead for most of the afternoon.

I am happy the guy messed up the google map location since I enjoyed the zoo!  We got to hold reptiles, feed baby crocodiles and see a variety of uncommon animals. The pretty ones included birds with vibrant feathers and brilliant eyes.

There are a lot of these guys scattered in the zoo.
You can have a picture with reptiles for P40 per animal. The snake feels weird, slithering on my body. Jopet found it fun to hold and says the scales are surprisingly soft. I look like I'm wearing household clothes. Fashown!

There's a mini park where you can walk and find rabbits and this huge turtle in the grassy plains.

Marvel at my majestic tail!

These orang-utans wanted to hold the visitors' hand. I extended mine but I was too short to reach it. Boo.

The Davao Crocodile Park for me has more interesting birds than crocodiles. This one looks like a classy chicken

You can feed ostrich with bird pellets. They are so cute! The guy says their eggs cost at least a thousand pesos.

Nomnomnom

We fed the baby crocs with meat for P35 per meat piece. The meat is hooked to a string and a bamboo rod. It's like crocodile fishing when you tease them with food they hop, then you go, "nope". Eventually they eat it anyway.

RAMON MAGSAYSAY PARK

After the Crocodile Park was the Ramon Magsaysay Park.  I was expecting to see scenes which were uniquely Davao but instead saw it similar to the QC Circle. I did enjoy eating fresh durian from the wide stretch of fruit stalls outside the park though. Durian is a sweet and slightly bitter fruit that emits a powerful smell. I have learned that there are 2 types of people, those who find it fragrant, and those who think it smells just as foul as the sewers. I love love love durian~ The durian guy gave me a glove and laughed, because he thought it was a joke when I asked for a spoon.

Is this heaven?

After trying to eat the whole durian and failing because my tummy could take no more, we went to Chinatown. It looks okay, I was not in awe since it looks just like Binondo, Manila.

Well this is it for day 1 for the 4 days 3 nights itinerary! We actually did more stuff at night but  I won't elaborate since it's so ordinary (groceries, the mall haha). Day 2 will be out in a few days.

  1. actually, Eden Park is part of the City, and in case u didnt know, Davao City is so huge, that even metro manila cities combined is still 2x smaller than Davao City :) so, i guess, "City proper or downtown area" is the right word. :D

i know coz i've research for my itinerary with some Facts about the city.. and thanks coz u just helped me a lot also on where to go. :) and i guess u just missed a chance of a lifetime seeing the Philippine Monkey Eating Eagle. its something Philippines should be proud of. :)
