| Mama Mia! Delicious spiced romano pizza! |
If you're wondering where to eat in Maginhawa for a good deal for your money, go to Friuli Trattoria! It's a tiny Italian restaurant near Holy Family School, located in Maginhawa, QC.

| Hello fellow diners! |
The Place!
The restaurant looks like an average dining place with monoblock chairs. Meant for casual diners, the restaurant has bright lights and plain-colored walls as opposed to a dimly lit dining place. I do have a scientific explanation for that! Sheena's useless trivia says that a dim place dilutes the eyelids, making you and your companion look more warm and friendly. Probably why dogs look more approachable than cats.
I've recently gone to Friuli Trattoria during early afternoon and late at night. Since it's the summer season, and the 2nd floor has really big windows and a tiny air con, I don't recommend going there while the sun is still up, at least while it's still summer.
The Food!
The food is great for their price, and I love it that they give relatively hearty servings. Then again that is very subjective, my former officemates told me that I eat like a bird. Still, we got to split the pizza and pasta for 3 people and were stuffed. That's good news right?
Their mozarella sticks is divine, but is almost always out of stock. They REALLY should have more of those ingredients readily available.
My childhood buddy, boyfriend and I shared a whole Spiced Romano Pizza (P235), made of "aged Romano cheese, blended in mushrooms ground beef & spices". It's slightly bigger than a regular plate. What it lacks in size, it makes up for its flavor and the awesome thin crust! And hurrah, it's not oily at all!
The Tuna and Mushroom Pasta (P110) is my friend's suggestion. It's a cream-based pasta with errr, tuna and mushrooms. I found this dish great too since it's very filling and mildly flavored, a good combo for the flavorful pizza.

My other visit was on a hot afternoon with my friend. We ordered dessert to cool down.
This is the Pharaoh's Delight, fig gelato topped with pistachios. The fact that it's coated with thin ice is a perfect snack to beat the heat.

After Eight (P85) is a curious name for a dessert. I blindly ordered it because it sounds catchy and the waitress told me that it was their best seller. I found out after the first bite that it was chocolate and mint gelato. I never liked mint with chocolate, but the combination was refreshing for summer. I think coming up with catchy food names like "tomorrow's promise" might mean good business.
What do you guys eat to beat the heat?
